With NSC only boasting two future players still in action (the remainder of the roster will come from domestic leagues), there’s just a little bit to give this week in terms of updates.
Randall Leal – with Deportivo Saprissa until January transfer window
Saprissa drew Herediano 1-1 in the Costa Rican Primera División’s semifinals for the Apertura (Fall season). Leal was shown a yellow card in the 41st minute. Two Herediano players were dismissed after 80 minutes, but El Team (I am not joking, this is Herediano’s nickname) still managed to equalize in stoppage time.
Tuesday evening, Leal started and went 90 minutes in the Concacaf League as Saprissa held Motagua (Honduras) to a 0-0 draw in the second leg of the final. The draw was enough to allow Saprissa’s 1-0 win in the home leg make Los Morados the competition’s champion.
Up next: The second leg of the Herediano series takes place Sunday at 4 p.m. CST at Saprissa’s home ground. A win sees Saprissa into the final against the winner of the San Carlos-Alajuelense semi on the other side. Otherwise, Leal’s career with Saprissa comes to an end.
Hany Mukhtar – with Brøndby IF until January transfer window
Brøndby fell to AGF 2-1 in Danish SuperLigaen play. Mukhtar was not in the starting lineup, but came on as a halftime sub, after which his team (maybe by coincidence, but I’ll choose to believe by #MukhtarMagic) played much better,
Up next: Brøndby travels to København Sunday morning at 4:45 a.m. CST. The game is not available in the United States.
