Another game, another Player of the Week honor for Nashville SC attacker Hany Mukhtar. His two-goal performance in a head-to-head victory against fellow MVP candidate Sebastian Driussi has landed Mukhtar the top spot in the league’s weekly honors. He was also joined on the Team of the week by centerback Walker Zimmerman, who scored the opening goal in the 3-0 win against Austin FC.

Mukhtar took four total shots and created seven chances in the win – while Driussi took three shots (two on target) and created one chance. Mukhtar also completed 21/23 passes, won his only tackle attempt, and regained possession for his team four times.

This is his second Player of the Week honor in a row, and comes on the heels of his being named Player of the Month for August earlier this afternoon. He was MLS Player of Week 16 earlier this season. He captured 39.35% of the total vote: 45.45% of the media’s ballots*, and 21.02% of the public’s vote on social media.

Zimmerman’s goal was one of two shots on-target, and he also completed 48/55 passes on the evening. He one five aerial duels and completed one tackle, in addition to winning back possession on three other occasions.

Mukhtar and Zimmerman become the 18th and 19th representatives for Nashville SC this season – after Mukhtar was previously named in Weeks 8, 12, 14, 16, 26, and 28, and Zimmerman was on the squad way back in Week 4. Dave Romney was on the list in Weeks 6 and 10, Randall Leal in Weeks 10 and 20, Gary Smith in Weeks 1 and 14, while Aníbal Godoy (1), CJ Sapong (13), and Jack Maher (27) have one honor apiece.
