From Club release:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 3, 2022) – Nashville Soccer Club announced today the loan of midfielder Irakoze Donasiyano to Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship for the remainder of the 2022 season. Nashville SC has the ability to terminate the loan agreement at any point throughout the season.

Donasiyano was originally selected by Nashville SC from the University of Virginia with the 20th overall pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, presented by adidas.

The midfielder made his MLS debut on June 18, 2021, in a road contest against the New York Red Bulls, logging 27 minutes as a second half substitute, but has not appeared in a match in 2022.

Nashville SC will return to MLS action on June 11 at GEODIS Park to take on the San Jose Earthquakes in a nationally televised contest on UniMás, TUDN and an English streaming option via Twitter.

Nashville SC release

Donasiyano started the year with a muscle injury, but hasn’t made a gameday squad since coming off the injury report. Getting him some match minutes in hopes that he develops is an obvious wise choice here.

The second-year pro spent most of last season on loan with OKC Energy, but he was sidelined with injury there, as well. As it stands, his minutes against New York Red Bulls last June remain his only in MLS. Rising is traditionally one of the stronger teams in USL Championship, though currently sitting in fourth in the Western Conference, below the typical standard.
