Time looked difficult to come by for one of NSC’s signed rookies, and getting game minutes is the greater priority for Thomas Judge’s development than training in Nashville. From Club release:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 6, 2021) – Nashville Soccer Club announced today it has loaned defender Tom Judge to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC of the USL Championship through the 2021 season. Nashville SC has the ability to terminate the loan agreement at any point throughout the loan.
Judge, who signed his Major League Soccer contract with Nashville SC on June 17, was originally selected from James Madison University with the club’s first pick in the Second Round of the 2021 SuperDraft, presented by adidas. Following the draft, the defender returned to JMU for his senior season where he was named MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist as he led the Dukes to a 5W-1L-1D record, a goal differential of plus seven and five shutouts.
Nashville SC release
Judge has potential, but like most rookies out of college – particularly this year, when players didn’t have the opportunity to train with the team in preseason – needs a little seasoning before he’s ready to see the MLS field.
