Nashville SC may not have a win, but the Boys in Gold can once again boast a player on the Major League Soccer Team of the Week. Goalkeeper Joe Willis needed just two saves to earn a shutout against Inter Miami CF, but he got them, and wears the gloves for the Best XI this week.
Willis is the second Nashville SC player to earn the honor this season. Winger Randall Leal was on the TOTW after the opening week, in which he scored a goal and recorded an assist against FC Cincinnati. He finished fourth in North American Soccer Reporters Player of the Week voting that week.
Willis earned two Team of the Week honors during the 2020 season, finishing as the runner-up for MLS Player of the Week Oct. 5, and once again making the group Nov. 5.
