Another new signing for the Boys in Gold. From Club release:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 9, 2023) – Nashville Soccer Club announced today it has signed American winger Nebiyou Perry to a three-year contract.

A native of New York City, Perry has played his young career overseas in Sweden and Germany. He moved to Europe in 2015, where he joined the youth system of AIK in the top soccer league in Sweden. He then joined FC Köln II in Germany before returning to Sweden and joining Östersunds FK in 2019.

In 2020, Perry set a career-high in appearances with 26 while earning seven assists in the campaign for Östersunds FK. In total, the 23-year-old has made 72 appearances across all competitions overseas.

Nashville SC release

A onetime US Youth International (he’s a Sweden dual-nat), Perry’s career has been a slog: though he has 41 Allsvenskan appearances with Östersunds, he most recently appeared in December 2021. The club was relegated and he did not make any appearances in the Superettan before his contract ended over the Summer.

Yet another NSC signing without a robust highlight reel freely available, he’s a two-footed winger standing a solid 6-0. With five years of pro experience (albeit with some spotty effectiveness/usage and mostly in lower leagues in Europe) and a US passport to take up a domestic roster slot, it’s a smart-money signing, but I will not pretend to opine on how effective a player he will be until I see him play.
