After emerging as a stalwart for the US Men’s National real over the past calendar year, Walker Zimmerman will represent the crest again.
The Nashville SC defender was named to the USMNT roster for the upcoming window. The Americans will play two friendlies as they prepare for the World Cup this November, and then play Concacaf Nations League matches against Grenada and El Salvador between June 1 and June 14.
Zimmerman, who turned 29 yesterday, was the only American field player to not earn a minute in the September World Cup Qualifying window, then was an injury replacement in the following window. He hasn’t looked back since, not only becoming one of the most-used (and likely a roster lock for the World Cup) players, but captaining his team and serving as spokesman for the Men’s National Team PA as the federation announced a groundbreaking deal for equal pay between the Men’s and Women’s senior national teams.
