Nashville will host Atlanta United in the Round of 32 in the US Open Cup. The teams were drawn together in a region that will also see the Richmond Kickers host Charlotte FC.
The Boys in Gold will play their first US Open Cup match as an MLS side against the same team they opened their competitive MLS history with back in 2020. That opening match – in front of 59,069 fans at Nissan Stadium – was a 2-1 victory for ATLUTD.
The 2020 season continued (eventually) with a 2-0 Atlanta win in Mercedes Benz Stadium before Nashville earned its first victory in the rivalry with a 4-2 triumph. The teams drew twice and Nashville won 2-0 in Atlanta in 2021.
The Open Cup match is slated for May 10 or 11, while the sides have a regular-season matchup on deck May 21.
