Nashville SC has moved up in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft to select UCLA defender Ahmed Longmire. A former Utah Valley State standout who transferred to powerhouse UCLA, Longmire is a top-notch centerback whose health issues may be the only reason he was still on the table at No. 10.
The Las Vegas native is 22 – doesn’t turn 23 until the end of the 2022 MLS season – and is a versatile players at 6-2 who can also play fullback.
Nashville executed a trade with Colorado Rapids to move up for Longmire, sending $125,000 GAM and the No. 26 overall pick in exchange for No. 10.
