Missed a couple yesterday. Nashville SC’s two Central American stars will square off much like the North American stars this qualifying window.
Veteran midfielder Aníbal Godoy will continue accumulating caps for Panama (after eclipsing triple digits this Summer), while winger Randall Leal returns for the Ticos after skipping the Gold Cup after the birth of his son, Ryan.
Panama’s call-ups include one other MLS player (Houston Dynamo’s Aldaberto Carrasquilla) and a USL pick in LA Galaxy II’s Carlos Harvey.
Costa Rica’s are below:
Chicago Fire’s Francisco Calvo, FC Cincinnati’s Rónald Matarrita, and Houston Dynamo’s Ariel Lassiter are the other US-based players for the contest.
A round-robin between these two teams, Jamaica, and Mexico will see the head-to-head match to open the window next Thursday, with Sunday seeing Godoy’s Panama against Jamaica and Leal’s Costa Rica against Mexico, and playing the opposite team the following Wednesday. Both teams play two home games, with the head-to-head match taking place in Panama City.
