For his assist-providing performance – and contributions to a clean sheet defensively – new dad Randall Leal can add MLS Team of the Week to his honors.
In addition to assisting the game’s only goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Philadelphia Union, Leal completed 81.8% of his passes, took two shots (one on-target), and won 6/12 duels.
He is the sixth selection for Nashville this season, with Joe Willis getting the nod after Week Three, Alex Muyl and Walker Zimmerman both members of the TOTW after Week Four, Hany Mukhtar after a brace in Week Seven, and Luke Haakenson for his two-goal heroics in Week Nine.
Leal previously made Team of the Week in back-to-back weeks near the end of last season (Oct. 26 and 29), so this week’s honor represents his third selection in MLS.
