IMG Academy shall not host the preseason schedule as-planned.

BRADENTON, Fla. (March 30, 2021) – Nashville Soccer Club and Inter Miami CF have announced that, in the interest of the health and safety of the players and staff, the preseason match scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 3 has been cancelled.

Miami has canceled the remainder of its preseason contests in Bradenton, so one can pretty safely assume that the abundance of caution is based around issues with IMCF (or general caution), not the opponents. Last week’s game against New York Red Bulls was a last-minute cancellation due to a positive test with the scheduled officiating crew, while Saturday’s against New York City FC was canceled with no specific reason given (similarly to this one).
That’s all three of Nashville’s scheduled friendly games against MLS opposition out the window, with only the Louisville City FC match in Nashville a couple weeks back and tomorrow’s against Tampa Bay Rowdies still on the slate. The Boys in Gold also have an open date for an opponent TBD on April 10, likely in Nashville – assuming the game happens. See the full schedule here.
