The day is here! It won’t have nearly the same fanfare as last year’s edition, but Nashville SC currently has five picks in the traditional (American-style, that is) college entry draft.
Action begins at 1 p.m. CST. The first round of the event streams on MLS’s various platforms (MLS app • YouTube • Twitter • Facebook), while you can follow subsequent rounds on the MLSSoccer.com tracker. Of course, there will be full coverage in this space as well as my Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook feeds.
Nashville currently has pick Nos. 20, 36, 74, 75 and 86 in the three-round draft. At this point, players drafted are expected to work into the MLS squad slowly, most likely finishing college careers and/or playing 2021 in USL before suiting up for the Boys in Gold in a competitive match.
- See how they got to that assortment of picks with a pair of trades this week.
- Take a look at the big-picture needs in the Draft.
- A handful of interesting names to keep an eye on.
Stay tuned for much more to come this afternoon.
