With a contract that expired at the conclusion of 2020, Nashville SC General Manager Mike Jacobs was no guarantee to remain with the club.
The former Sporting Kansas City assistant GM and Nashville SC USL GM was the MLS club’s second soccer-side employee – after CEO Ian Ayre – and will remain with the club on a new three-year contract, which will run through 2023. Jacobs put together a playoff squad on a more limited budget than many clubs in MLS in the club’s inaugural year, with the Boys in Gold finishing No. 7 in the Eastern Conference and advancing to the conference semifinal in the playoffs.
Nashville SC is building toward its second season, having retained the majority of the roster from the inaugural year while leaving roster and salary-cap space to add to it.
