Welcome to Boys in Not Gold. Wonder what Nashville SC’s players on loan (or on national team duty) are up to? Here’s your regular recap.
Luke Haakenson
On loan with Charlotte Independence in the USL Championship
Haakenson played just his second professional game. He started and went 63 minutes in Independence’s 2-2 draw at Memphis 901 FC. He also got his first goal as a pro:
He completed 10/18 passes in what was – aside from the goal – a relatively quiet hour-plus on the pitch.
Up next: Charlotte has a week off before traveling to Birmingham Legion a week from Wednesday.
Cameron Lancaster
On loan with Louisville City FC in the USL Championship.
Lancaster started and played 71 minutes in LCFC’s 1-0 win over Sporting Kansas City II (the artists formerly known as Swope Park Rangers). He scored the lone goal in the game:
He also took three other shots (one off-frame, two blocked). He completed 9/14 passes, and was a perfect 3/3 on duels, including one aerial duel win. He also drew one foul, blocked two shots, and intercepted one SKCII pass.
Up next: 2-2-1 Louisville City FC hosts Sporting Kansas City II (again! Yay, pod system!) Wednesday evening.
Back to the future
Randall Leal won the Goal of the Apertura (Fall-Winter season) at the conclusion of Costa Rica’s full year:
You may recall the goal in question. It was a banger:
