With NSC only boasting two future players still in action (the remainder of the roster will come from domestic leagues), there’s just a little bit to give this week in terms of updates.
Brayan Beckeles – with CD Olimpia until January transfer window
Beckeles celebrated his signing with Nashville SC by scoring a goal for CD Olimpia in his game that evening. It was the second goal in a 3-0 victory in Honduras’s postseason pentagonal playoff.
It wasn’t the toughest goal he’ll ever score, but they all count, yeah?
On Sunday, Olimpia beat Marathon 4-0. Beckeles started and went 90 minutes. With the victory, Olimpia took first place in the pentagonal, which meant they took the Apertura title outright. By finishing atop the regular-season table and the pentagonal, they did not have to face a challenge to earn the title.
Up next: Olimpia’s Apertura campaign has come to an end as undisputed champion. Beckeles’s final minutes with the team are in the books, and now he’s next to take the field as a member of Nashville SC.
Randall Leal – with Deportivo Saprissa until January transfer window
Leal’s season ended before last week’s update.
Hany Mukhtar – with Brøndby IF until January transfer window
The injury that forced Mukhtar out of the lineup 57 minutes into last week’s game saw him miss the penultimate contest before Denmark’s winter break. In his absence, Brøndby IF fell to Midtjylland 2-1, and remains fourth position in the table.
Up next: Brøndby hosts 12th-place Hobro Sunday at 9:00 a.m. CDT in Danish SuperLigaen action. Given that’s the final game before the winter break, it seems unlikely BIF risks playing Mukhtar after a minor injury and with the player departing over the winter transfer window.
