The Trade Window is no longer open, but Nashville SC’s future roster is continuing to take shape. I’ll save an intra-MLS rundown for later, but for now, those future NSC players who are still in action in the roundup.
Randall Leal – with Deportivo Saprissa until January transfer window
Thursday, Saprissa beat Motagua (Honduras) in the first leg of the Concacaf League final. Leal provided the assist with a pinpoint throughball (albeit after losing the ball between his legs for a sec):
Sunday, he was not in the squad as a heavily-rotated Saprissa side beat sixth-place Jicaral 5-2 in the penultimate game of Costa Rica’s Apertura (Fall) season.
Up next: Saprissa plays its final regular-season game Saturday at 9 p.m., hosting bottom-table Grecia.
However, Leal will be unavailable for selection (it won’t affect his team’s final position in the table: they can’t move up from second or get caught from behind in the final matchday) as he’s a member of Costa Rica’s Nations League squad. Los Ticos travel to Curaçao Thursday evening (5:30 p.m. CDT on UniMás and TUDN for all my Spanish cable-package subscribers) and host Haiti Sunday at 5 p.m. CDT from Saprissa’s home stadium in San José.
Hany Mukhtar – with Brøndby IF until January transfer window
Brøndby beat Esbjerg 2-1 in league action Sunday. Mukhtar started and played 71 minutes in the victory, with his team scoring both goals while he was on the field and not conceding until he was subbed out of the contest.
Up next: Brøndby is idle during the FIFA International Break, and Mukhtar was not called up for Germany’s UEFA Nations League games (he has yet to receive his first senior international call-up).
