We watch Nashville SC, like, all the time. However, there are a few NSC players getting their action with other teams right now. Let’s pop in on them.
Out on loan
Vinnie Vermeer – With Las Vegas Lights through 2019 season
Vegas lost to Austin Bold 4-1. Vermeer came on as a 56th-minute substitute – with his team already down 3-1 – and completed 94% of his passes.
Up next: Lights @ Colorado Springs Switchbacks, 7:00 p.m. CDT Saturday
Joining in January
David Accam – with Columbus Crew until Jan. 1, 2019
Accam was not in the squad for a 1-1 draw at Vancouver Whitecaps.
Up next: Columbus v. Philadelphia Union, 4:00 p.m. CDT Sunday
Aníbal Godoy – with San Jose Earthquakes until Jan. 1, 2019
Godoy was an unused substitute in a 3-1 loss at Atlanta United.
Up next: San Jose v. Philadelphia Union, 10:00 p.m. CDT tonight
Randall Leal – with Deportivo Saprissa until January transfer window
Leal started and played 90 minutes in a 1-0 league victory over Pérez Zeledón Thursday.
He started and played 90 minutes, earning a yellow card, in a 2-2 draw against Santos de Guápiles in a league match Saturday. Both of Santos’s goals came via penalty kick, which, to me, is a little sketchy.
Last night, he started and played 90 minutes in a 3-2 Concacaf League victory over Panama’s Independiente (CAI). He played all over the field, including as a box-to-box midfielder and left winger. He barely missed hitting the game-winner on a header:

…but ultimately earned the penalty that teammate Johan Venegas converted (for his hat-trick) in stoppage time. Should Saprissa earn at least a draw in the second leg next Tuesday, they will automatically qualify for Concacaf Champions League 2020 (the tournament in which they fell to Mexico’s Tigres in the 2019 edition).
Up next: Saprissa @ Guadalupe, 5:00 p.m. CDT Saturday in league action
Saprissa @ CAI (Panama), 9:00 p.m. CDT Tuesday in Concacaf League
Hany Mukhtar – with Brøndby IF until January transfer window
Brøndby lost to Esbjerg 3-1 in the Danish Superliga Sunday. Mukhtar went 90 minutes as one of the advanced midfielders in a midfield trio. The loss was Broøndby’s fourth of the season, but first since Mukhtar returned from injury.
Up next: Brøndby @ Skive, 12:30 p.m. CDT today in Danish Cup
Brøndby @ SønderjyskE, 11:00 a.m. CDT Sunday in league play
