Nashville SC renews Spanish-language broadcast agreement with El Jefe

Like with its other broadcast partners, Nashville SC’s Spanish-language radio outlet will be a familiar face in 2019:

NASHVILLE (January 31, 2019) – Nashville Soccer Club home games will again be broadcast on the radio in Spanish on El Jefe 96.7 FM. The sides renewed their partnership for the 2019 season after a successful inaugural season last year.

As the Spanish language radio home for Nashville SC, El Jefe will broadcast all 18 of Nashville SC’s home games this season as well as pregame and postgame shows, gameday interviews and weekly content.

“El Jefe provides quality Spanish language soccer coverage, and we are delighted to have them on board again in 2019,” said Nashville SC CEO Ian Ayre. “Our partnership has proven to be invaluable as we spread Nashville Soccer Club to all of Nashville.”

“Our El Jefe 96.7 FM, 105.3 FM and 810 AM team is excited about the 2019 Nashville Soccer Club season and all of the exciting additions to the club,” said El Jefe general sales manager Santos Gonzalez. “We are looking forward to our gameday broadcasts, making loyal fans throughout our Spanish radio coverage area and strengthening our relationship with the Hispanic soccer-loving community and our friends at NSC.”

Nashville SC’s season will kick off on February 22 for a preseason friendly against future MLS foe New York City FC. Tickets for the game are on sale at Fans can still reserve their place in line for MLS season tickets by becoming a Nashville SC Season Ticket Member at

It’s hard to sound anything other than dismissive by saying “that was expected” or “important but unsurprising,” but given my stance on the Club’s ability to appropriately court the Spanish-language audience in the past (they’ve had extremely mixed efforts and results), the expected can still be extremely important. Good on them for working out year two of a deal.
