Let’s tackle that title in reverse order. The 2019 kit reveal happened with relatively little fanfare this afternoon, but these are quite the look(s):

Obviously only two options there, though I assume there will once again be some sort of blue kit (and I suspect the white is more likely the third kit than one of the top two options, like Atlanta United’s King Peach kit last year, though that’s hardly super-important: they’ll wear every kit they have available over the course of the year). Some quick thoughts:
- The blue in the “Nissan” ad appears to be lighter in color, matching the colors in the NSC crest, rather than similar to the color of last year’s darker navy kit. I’m agnostic on the change, though the aesthetics are certainly pleasing, like they were with a darker color.
- The white shoulder panels from the 2018 blue jersey seem to have made their way onto the golds for next year. I’m not a huge fan of that accent, but it’s a pretty insignificant detail to me. I do like the white sleeve piping.
- The white kit is so so so rad. There will be some uproar over the style of gold (a metallic, Vegas Gold-style, rather than the yellow “gold” of NSC history), but it looks clean as all get-out, so whateva.
- The Under Armour logo being a different color from the rest of the details on the white is probably going to bother me. I haven’t decided yet, but it definitely stands out, at the very least.
All told, two pretty nice-looking kits (will the shorts for both be simple monochrome versions of the respective shirts? I assume so but don’t know, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the third jersey looks like, if there is one.
They run 85 bucks on the team store, which is probably in line with the market rates, but feels pretty expensive to me.
