Wes and I have talked on the pod ad nauseam about the value in Greguš being that he’s good enough to literally have joined this league as a DP, but willing to play a smaller role. I would imagine it’s the latter part that’s an issue for Greguš, particularly as Aníbal Godoy’s Panamanian Summer has come to an end: there just aren’t minutes available to justify keeping Greguš around.

When you can shed 266k in salary, make 75k in GAM, and not lose a whole lot on the field, it’s a deal worth making (particularly since Nashville values a second-round SuperDraft pick at a higher value than Minnesota ever will, that’s a little freebie thrown on the end). If the Slovakian had come in and seized a role, he’s likely sticking around through the season. Instead, Nashville frees up some resources.
