As predicted back when the initial phase of the schedule was announced: Nashville SC will finish preseason against Birmingham Legion. From Club release:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 1, 2021) – Nashville Soccer Club announced today that it will conclude its 2021 preseason, presented by Vanderbilt Health, by hosting Birmingham Legion FC of the USL Championship at Nissan Stadium at 7:30 p.m. CT on April 10 in a match that will be played behind closed doors.
Nashville SC will kick off its 2021 Major League Soccer season by hosting rival FC Cincinnati at Nissan Stadium on April 17 at 7:30 p.m. CT, presented by Jackson. Fans interested in securing a seat for the club’s season opener and beyond should pursue a 2021 season ticket membership as Nashville SC Season Ticket Members will receive priority for seating.Nashville SC
NSC beat Birmingham in preseason and then twice in the regular season during the clubs’ only shared season in USL (2019). It does seem there’s a more positive relationship between Legion FC and Nashville than there is with, say Memphis 901, so a preseason friendly is a good way to continue building those ties.
That the clubs will go through a bit of a dry run in Nissan Stadium is obviously notable and pretty cool, as well. Not a whole lot in it beyond that (though this should be far-and-away the easiest of NSC’s three preseason opponents).
