As reported by The Washington Post‘s Steven Goff Monday, Nashville SC and FC Dallas will play in The Big D next week, with the first game Wednesday and a second over the weekend, team sources tell The Athletic‘s Paul Tenorio.
Tenorio and colleague Sam Stejskal originally reported a couple weeks ago that NSC and Dallas will play three games – in addition to an 18-game close to the regular season – over the remainder of the year to make up for the three games they lost by being removed from the MLS is Back tournament due to positive tests for the SARS-CoV-2 novel coronavirus.
Nashville SC returned to the Music City, and has resumed practicing in lieu of the time spent in Orlando.
Dallas began the year with a 2-0 win over Philadelphia Union and a 2-2 draw against the Montreal Impact – and while it’s been over five months since those games, they’re signs that Luchi Gonzalez’s side could be among the better in MLS.
For its part, Nashville SC is 0-2-0 on the year, with a 2-1 loss to Atlanta United (not looking as good nowadays, after Atlanta fired head coach Frank de Boer at the conclusion of a winless trip to Orlando) and 1-0 at the Portland Timbers, who will play in the Tournament final Tuesday evening.
